Minneapolis apartments offer the perfect situation for residents to love life in the "twin cities". Minneapolis/Saint Paul was named The Twin Cities in the early 1870's. First called Dual Cities to remind visitors that there was actually more than one city in this metropolitan area, it changed to twin cities later in the decade. This huge urban area is the most populous in the entire state of Minnesota.
While close in proximity the two cities have different cultural roots. Minneapolis is more influenced by its Scandinavian history and the Saint Paul area is more affected by its German background. The streets and layout of each city is also drastically different with Minneapolis having a larger more orderly layout and Saint
Paul an older fashioned narrow street and irregular mapping.
